About Epithalon
A synthetic peptide of four amino acids (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly). It was modelled on epithalamin, a protein extract of the bovine pineal gland.
Research context
Studied in cell-culture experiments on cell division and telomeres, the repeated DNA at chromosome ends. These experiments describe cultured cells and do not establish a longevity effect in people.
